shampoor, eh?
my mom and i took the van to the carwash today to clean out the inside because matthew spilled root beer on the carpet a few days ago. i vaccuumed out all of the loose dirt with the incredibly suctioned sucky thing. it made my fingers hurt. then, she used the carpet shampoo contraption to scrub it with strawberry scented foam. the large sign on the machine called it a "shampoor". first of all, i wasn't really aware that to shampoo something was a verb. yes, people say it, but shouldn't it really be to wash/clean something using shampoo? i don't really know about that one. but, secondly, if shampoo is, indeed, a verb, wouldn't the one who shampoos be a shampooEr? think about it: shampoor vs. shampooer. it makes more sense my way.
note: here's what my lovely oxford dictionary has to say about the subject...
shampoo- n. a substance used to wash hair, carpet, cars, etc.
v. the act of cleaning something with shampoo.
okay, so shampoo is a verb. but, i'm still right about the -er thing!!!!lol
