off to the kdr party!!!
elkins was a regular ol' knee-slappin' good time. eric and i drove down to his grandmas house last night, where we met up with his dad and sister. we had dinner, then kayla, eric, and i went to the famous elkins forest festival. the forest festival is a place where lots of scary elkins folk gather to ride squeaky rides, eat greasy food, play rigged carnival games, and watch 3 hour long parades. anyway, the three of us rode a few rides, then we walked around for awhile. eric and i got a beautiful caricature drawn of us...lol when it got dark, we walked back to their grandmother's house. we were there for a few minutes, then eric and i drove back downtown to get pizza. the pizza place was, i think, the elkins equivalent of wheeling's dicarlos--scary and dirty, but the natives love it, haha! anyway, we had to run across the street during the parade to get to the place...they were having a fire engine parade. not a few fire engines at the beginning of a parade; an entire parade of fire engines from across the state--really loud, and weird...but the parade thing gets weirder tomorrow. after we brought the pizza back to the house, we ate it and sat around talking for a bit. eric and i took a walk a little later that night, and it was nice. i like elkins. sleeping was sorta weird just because i was in a strange house and a strange bed. nevertheless, i slept. this morning, we got up and sat around watching television for a few minutes. a nice movie with a psychotic kid whos hand was killing people was on. then we left. i walked downtown with eric, kayla, and their dad. we walked around the festival some more and looked at exhibits. eric and i went to a very elkinsy restaurant for lunch. i forget the name of it...sigh. the host was an almost too gay to function guy, there were gnats flying around inside, and they misspelled most of the words on the comment card. but, the food wasnt too bad. we went back to his grandmother's house after lunch. most of the people downtown had gathered along the street to watch the log truck parade at that point. we hung around the house for a bit and watched er for a while. then, we ate supper. after dinner, eric and i headed back to morgantown. thoughts on elkins: its not what im used to, but i had fun and liked it; its a quaint little town, and im glad i went:) back in motown: i took a shower, and now im getting ready to go out. i believe that were going to make our way up to the the kappa delta rho party tonight, soooo we shall see how that goes! ttfn, blog readers!!!
