today was a perfectly horrid day. first of all, i went to the doctor’s office to receive my physical for school. my appointment was at 12:00; i arrived at 11:55. i sat in the waiting room…and i sat…and i sat…and i sat for 2 and a half hours!!!! at 2:30, i went back to the examination room. a nurse came and weighed me and took all of my vitals. then i sat for another 15 minutes. then the doctor came; she looked in my ears & eyes, listened to me breathe, and poked & prodded my stomach for 30 seconds. that was it. 2.5 hours of waiting for a physical that didn’t involve any more than 10 minutes of examining me! argh. but, you’ll be happy to know that i’m completely normal, healthy, and “unremarkable,” according to my filled out sheet.
after spending half of my life at the freezing cold doctor’s office, i came home and ate lunch. then i went out with my mother. oh, and i stopped at greco’s to get “my big fat greek wedding” from eric. when i walked in, he was chipping away at a giant chunk of ice with big metal tongs to put in the bottom of the buffet thing. funny. and, yes, seeing that boy for 3 minutes was definitely the high point of my crappy day!
anyway, after that, i went to my mom’s school to help her finish setting up her classroom and stuff. it was nice; she sorted books, and i went through her entire desk looking for interesting things (i.e. nice smelling hand lotion, chai tea bags, white-out that is pink, millions of fun stickers, glittery hand sanitizer, pens with scented ink, earrings, and lots of normal teachery pencils and things). i also cleaned most of the room with lysol wipes bc little kids are germy, and classrooms are gross.
later, we went school shopping for several hours. that was a hoot. st clairsville was PACKED w/ noisy shoppers. and, the ac in walmart seemed to be malfunctioning bc it was hot, hot, hot!!! but, we bought lots of school stuff…not really any way fun stuff, but schooly stuff nonetheless. i got some nice binders (the white kind w/ pockets that i’m obsessed with!), and a telephone that’s pretty silver, and other boring dorm life essentials. oh, i bought these REALLY COOL covers for my little pillows!!!! they’re white and sorta furry…but not ugly or tacky; just silky and waaaay soft!! yay! i got a french dictionary at staples too, so that was jolly. un ejemplo (<---spanish!): “le fleuve se jette dans la mer” (<---french!).
now i’m pooped (no, eric, i didn’t say that i pooped…because i didn’t!!!). i’m totally exhausted, and i’m not really sure why. yea, i was out for quite some time today, and i suppose that the annoyance levels hit some highs throughout the day. anyway, i’m really tired now, and my feet hurt. eric went far away for a church thingy (and on a full moon too!!!!)! so i’m going to bed now because being unconscious for several hours is sounding quite appealing to me at the moment. goodnight, all.
